Radio Frequency Reallocation

What does this mean for wireless microphones in Namibia?

As a primary distributor and integrator of microphone technology in Namibia, Stage Audio Works feels it is our responsibility to keep all our clients—past, present, and future—informed of regulatory changes that could impact their operations.

Due to a recent spectrum reallocation aimed at providing more bandwidth to the telecommunications industry and aligning Namibia with European Radio Frequency (RF) standards, the frequency range of 780–822 MHz is no longer designated for wireless microphone use. As outlined in the Government Gazette of the Republic of Namibia, all wireless microphones with an output of 50 milliwatts (mW) or less are now required to operate within the 470–694 MHz frequency band.

This change will impact Sennheiser and other brands that currently operate in the affected range. It’s important to note that Stage Audio Works began transitioning to the new allowable frequency range of 470–694 MHz over three years ago, in anticipation of these regulatory shifts. Many of the systems we have supplied in recent years are already compliant.

For personalized guidance, we encourage you to contact your local Sennheiser representative. They can help assess your current system and advise you on the best course of action. In the meantime, we strongly recommend that you do not make any wireless microphone purchases without first confirming that the equipment is compliant with the new frequency allocations.

As always, Stage Audio Works Namibia remains committed to providing premium service and after-sales support. We’re here to help you navigate these changes and continue delivering the best in professional audio solutions.
