Multichoice upgrades boardroom with seamless video conferencing solution

Stage Audio Works Namibia integrates state-of-the-art meeting room technology at leading television provider’s headquarters

Windhoek, Namibia, June 2024 – Multichoice, Africa’s leading satellite television service provider, recently upgraded its Namibia headquarters with an updated meeting room system at its Windhoek boardroom. The project, aimed at enhancing the video conferencing and content-sharing capabilities in the space, was led by APIX Digital Solutions in collaboration with Stage Audio Works (SAW) Namibia.

“We were approached by APIX Digital Solutions to assist with a boardroom solution for one of their clients,” recalls Joppie Maritz, Managing Director at SAW Namibia. “The client had a clear objective, to elevate their boardroom facilities and streamline their video conferencing process to foster improved communication and collaboration during meetings.”

The scope of the project included upgrading the display systems, implementing high-quality video conferencing equipment, and optimising content-sharing functionalities in the main 14-delegate capacity boardroom.

Providing clear visuals for the entire room, two Samsung QB75B 75” professional displays with UHD resolution were chosen. Source switching and screen sharing are handled by an Atlona 4K/UHD HDR HDMI Matrix Switcher whilst a Polycom X70 video conferencing unit, mounted beneath the displays, offers a sleek all-in-one solution comprised of a video conferencing bar with built-in audio plus on-desk touch control panels and speaker hub.

“This solution enhances productivity and ensures a more engaging and feature-rich online meeting experience which is in line with our purpose of ‘Enhancing society with innovative technologies’,” highlights Rowan Kleintjes, Managing Director at APIX Digital Solutions. “Creating an improved hybrid meeting experience will help reduce company costs of travelling to in-person meetings.”

“The main request from the client was to have a boardroom with effortless VC functionality. Content sharing and camera quality were the main issues in the past, and both have been resolved with this installation,” explains Maritz. “With the 75” LED screens, you can sit far back, and people can still see your eyes and face. Presentations are also more clearly visible on the LED screens.”

Reflecting on the collaboration with SAW Namibia, Kleintjes commended their professionalism and dedication throughout the project. “Stage Audio Works Namibia is a very professional outfit,” he remarks. “They consulted from the beginning and closely monitored every step of the way during the installation and deployment phases to make sure everything was covered.”

The successful integration of the AV system at Multichoice’s boardroom underscores the commitment of both APIX Digital Solutions and Stage Audio Works to deliver innovative and user-friendly solutions that meet the evolving needs of their clients and the modern workplace.
