Stage Audio Works Namibia (SAW Namibia) – leading supplier, manufacturer, and distributor of technology solutions – recently hosted a series of Wireless Technology Workshops in collaboration with Sennheiser South Africa*. The sessions, held on March 23rd at SAW Namibia’s Windhoek headquarters, welcomed 34 industry professionals for a full day of hands-on training, demonstrations, and in-depth exploration of professional wireless audio systems.
We were delighted to host professionals from Houses of Worship, Broadcasting, Banking, Rental Staging & Events, Government, and Education sectors,” says Johadrie de Villiers, SAW Namibia General Manager. “The workshops offered a practical platform for attendees to deepen their understanding of wireless audio systems, from fundamental concepts to advanced applications, while engaging with our team and fellow attendees.”
The programme was facilitated by technical specialists from the Sennheiser South Africa team, covering key topics such as the differences between analogue and digital wireless systems, recent RF changes in Namibia, and an overview of Sennheiser wireless ranges, including EW-D and EW-DX. A key highlight of the workshop was a brief introduction to Sennheiser’s latest flagship wireless platform, Spectera, giving attendees a forward-looking perspective on wideband, bidirectional wireless ecosystems. Participants explored how Spectera represents a significant evolution in RF technology, combining multiple wireless functions into a single, more efficient and flexible platform.
Attendees were also introduced to advanced tools such as SoundBase and engaged in practical demonstrations that brought these technologies to life.
“The workshops were designed to give participants a clear understanding of the latest developments in wireless audio technology,” de Villiers explains. “By breaking down key concepts such as analogue versus digital systems, RF changes in Namibia, and the evolution of wideband wireless, we aimed to make complex technical topics easier to understand and apply.”
Attendees praised the clarity of the presentations, noting how complex concepts were made easy to understand, the audible differences between microphone capsules, and the practical demonstrations of the Spectera wireless system. One attendee commented, “The collaboration between the SAW and Sennheiser teams in delivering solutions was particularly impressive.”
“Our team is thrilled with the positive feedback,” adds de Villiers. “Seeing participants gain confidence with advanced wireless audio tools and witnessing collaboration across sectors reinforces our commitment to supporting Namibia’s professional audio-visual community.”
SAW Namibia remains committed to supporting the growth and development of Namibia’s professional audio-visual industry through ongoing training initiatives and strategic partnerships.
