Stage Audio Works Namibia strengthens warehouse safety with Audac audio solution at distribution warehouse

Stage Audio Works (SAW) Namibia has completed the installation of a comprehensive Audac audio announcement system at a new distribution warehouse in Windhoek, delivering a reliable communication solution specially tailored to an operationally demanding environment.

The client initially sought an internal announcement system to ensure that critical messages could be communicated clearly to all warehouse staff throughout the interior of the facility. As planning progressed, the scope expanded to include audio coverage outside the warehouse, enabling announcements to reach employees working in exterior loading areas.

“We were responsible for all supply and installation for the project, managing the full solution design, equipment specification, installation and commissioning,” explains Roy Modise, Snr Sales Consultant at Stage Audio Works Namibia. “The project required collaboration and input from across the SAW Namibia team, including sales and our skilled technical installation team.”

SAW selected a complete Audac solution, including a six-channel stereo preamplifier, paging microphone, 16 universal wall-mounted loudspeakers and a compact dual-channel power amplifier. The choice of Audac was based on the product lines’ performance reliability.

“Audac has proven itself as a trusted choice time and time again in demanding environments across Namibia,” says Emcé Smit, Technical Manager. “We’ve installed Audac systems that have been running for nearly a decade without issues. Their durability, combined with our team’s experience, meant we could offer the client a solution we trust completely that will deliver consistent performance in what is a busy and demanding environment.”

The installation presented several technical and logistical challenges, as the work had to be carried out at heights of up to 8 metres, within a busy, fully stocked warehouse that remained operational throughout the project. As a food-distribution facility, strict safety and hygiene protocols required careful planning and oversight. One of the client’s major acoustic challenges was the ambient noise generated by a dozen or more forklifts in constant operation.

The new Audac system was specified specifically to overcome the high-noise environment. Careful loudspeaker placement and appropriate power amplification ensure clear and intelligible announcements throughout the warehouse, even during periods of peak activity.

“The clarity and coverage of the new system make a significant difference on the warehouse floor,” confirms Modise. “Staff can now hear critical announcements immediately, which improves safety and overall efficiency.”

The warehouse now benefits from a hard-wearing, low-maintenance communication solution designed to support daily operations and bolster facility safety. For SAW Namibia, the project was particularly important. “The client is a longstanding customer of ours, and we had previously provided integration services in the company’s boardrooms and meeting spaces,” explains Smit. “This project was a great opportunity to showcase our services and expertise to a new department whilst also strengthening our brand presence within the warehouse sector.”
